Ethiopia in pictures…

We traveled with a team of 30 people.  We had many ages and backgrounds represented and many of us had never met before. It was amazing to watch our lives become woven together so quickly and I have to say I would travel on another mission trip with the same team again next year- any takers? It will not be a surprise if many of us return to Ethiopia at some point in the next year or two. One of the things I found so enjoyable was discovering how each of us felt God pulling us toward Ethiopia. Many of our team have been touched by adoption and specifically Ethiopian adoption. We had adoptive parents, grandparents, Aunts and even people who have themselves been adopted. Several who are are waiting to adopt where on our trip. We could not help but remark the the very children we were visiting, loving and holding could be the next child to come home to a waiting family. Each little girl I encountered without a mother or father made my heart weep as I could think of nothing but my own sweet baby girl who came home to our family last summer. Our Ethiopia trip, our connections and our service was very personal and very meaningful on so many levels.

Our team enriched and inspired myself and my son during our two weeks away. We lived in very close proximity, sharing only three bathrooms for 30 people, we shed many tears, prayed together, feared what we had never seen before all together and formed a bond and a love for Ethiopia and her people that won’t soon change. I am praying for each person who attended our trip to find peace. Coming back from such a journey shakes one to the core and I know I have been shaken, changed and rearranged. I am praying for each of my teammates to be moved to action. I am seeing it happen already in most of us. What a miracle to see God work in our hearts. I am praying that we all find a way to share our journey with others to hopefully encourage another heart to Go. Serve. and Love. I am so grateful for the opportunity to have traveled with each and every one of you. You are all truly amazing!

Here is my version of our trip in pictures. I hope you will see the rich beauty we saw with each and every interaction we had with the Ethiopian people. I have been to many places, non more warm and inviting than Ethiopia. Enjoy!
