Spring… a perfect time for a teaparty

I love documenting life as it unravels and then quickly slips away. Being in the moment for me is often a challenge and with a full household of seven, my camera has become a treasure. I often wish I used it more or could simply set it on the counter and let it record. I know someday I will long for these crazy days of children, schedules, homework, loud meals mounds of laundry and so much more.

It is spring here finally. It was a long haul of a winter and our family was desperate for sunshine and longer days to be outside. My boys were raised playing outside whenever possible so the past month of rain, sleet, snow and more rain was beyond tolerable. This weekend was a true game changer and all the kids congregated throughout the neighborhood, circling here and there connecting with playmates.  Outdoor soccer was possible although the soggy field still needs sunshine. I do wish I had captured Miss Ava yesterday all dressed for her brother’s game in white leggings and sparkly shoes. I was headed home when I spotted her en route to the game with her brother. I made it crystal clear that Daddy had dressed her when all the mommas began their banter.

We wrapped up our weekend with a very sweet little tea party with Ava’s neighborhood girls. Ava turned three and plays with little girls ranging from three to six. The girls are so innately motherly and they all seem to love when she joins the fun. I tried to keep the celebration very simple and of course I wish I had captured more photos but here is a little peak into some of the memorable moments. My children’s birthdays are such special reminders to cherish each day and to do my best to live in the moment, thanking God for the beauty and chaos and yes even the laundry.

My sweet friend Anne’s teacup was used for the cake topper
