Summer’s Beauty {Days 5&6}

My two middle boys are off to soccer camp this morning and I am sitting here quietly watching my oldest build a fortress for my youngest. Best part of all is how much lil Ava works so hard to get to her brother, destroying the creation just as quickly as he can build it. They are so sweet together and he loves her more than words. Yesterday he announced that he wished he had a friend from Ethiopia since his sister is from Ethiopia. Melt me heart- that comment. It is the littlest of things that have been changed in our hearts due to adoption.

I am grateful for detailed dialogue with my husband about where we are being called next, open windows on breezy days, helping friends, a driveway talk with a close friend who hears my heart, my outdoor loving children, our backyard strawberry patch, making pizzas altogether on the grill,  boys staying the night with cousins and a sparkling daughter who reminds me daily of God’s precious grace…

Have a blessed day and feel free to leave me a comment with your favorite gift or blessing of the day!

  1. Today I am grateful to have the opportunity to connect with people from other cultures on their terms. I am grateful for a iron stomach and a willing heart. I am grateful for family and friends who support me in all that I do. I am grateful for my husband’s new job and that my Dad is still around for me to wish Happy Father’s Day. I am also grateful to have sisters who continue to inspire and drive all those they touch toward goodness and fairness. There is beauty all around each and every one of us if we choose to see it.
